Raintree Solutions has been a One Young World supporter and sponsored delegates over a number of years.
Raintree mounted and funded the first One Young World Eco-breakaways for One Young World delegates, where powerful presentations around Eco and Environmental awareness and action were given to representatives from over twenty countries including Australia, England, France, Solomon Islands, Bangladesh, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, India, Kenya, Cameroon, Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, UAE, Dubai, UK and USA.
With GIBS business school and First National Bank, Raintree Solutions initiated and co-funded the special Mohammad Yunus workshop.
As a Nobel Laureate but more because of the pioneering work in micro lending to the poor and spreading the ‘gospel’ of Social Enterprise, Raintree felt it was crucial for business people and the public, to have a chance to hear prof Yunus.
The co-sponsors also enabled Bangladeshi youth delegates to attend One Young World.
With only 1,700 Brown Hyenas remaining in South Africa, and only 5-8,000 across the whole of Southern Africa, Project Phiri or the Brown Hyena Project was established to gain a better understanding of this endangered species.
